김새로미, Romi Kim or Skim in drag, is a genderfluid, second generation Korean lesbian. They identify themselves  in recognizing the words they describe themselves as  are verbs rather than nouns or adjectives- constantly in action, and in flux. They work with an interdisciplinary approach in drag performance, found and recreated materials, video and installation. Kim has a collaborative art practice as a member of the House of Rice, an all Asian drag family in Vancouver as well as a solo one. Kim's practice is concerned with  unlearning imperial regimes of history and the archive; writing, learning and language as an exploration of power and praxis; and disidentification through drag, affective belonging and placemaking as a possibility to create relations.  Kim is an uninvited settler living and working on unceded xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and Sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
